LIV Lanseria Community Outreach

The GeoGroup recently organized an outreach program to support LIV Lanseria, a South African village dedicated to caring for orphaned and vulnerable children.  LIV Lanseria fosters a nurturing environment where children can grow into healthy individuals and future leaders.

Our team of volunteers spent a fun-filled afternoon with the kids and staff at LIV Lanseria.  We kicked things off with an exciting Easter egg hunt, where the children eagerly searched for colourful treats. Following the hunt, the volunteers turned into face painting experts, initially creating adorable Easter bunny designs.  However, the day took a turn towards the creative as the children requested a variety of imaginative designs.  Our volunteers found themselves painting some truly unique creations, with a few interesting interpretations of Spiderman emerging as clear favourites!

LIV Lanseria relies on the generosity of businesses and churches to operate, as they are not government-funded.  Their mission extends beyond caring for children; they strive to empower the surrounding community and promote self-sustainability through initiatives like LIV Business (PTY) Ltd.  This subsidiary focuses on creating jobs via farming and enterprise ventures, with all profits directly benefiting the children at LIV.

The outreach was a rewarding experience for everyone involved.  We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the children and staff at LIV Lanseria,  while contributing to the well-being of this vital organization.
