Team Empowerment Through Safety

Over the past few weeks, our teams have received extensive training on health and safety in the workplace. The OHS Act (Occupational Health and Safety) requires that staff members within the workplace are selected and legally appointed as safety representatives. It is their responsibility to monitor and assist the company in ensuring that the workplace remains safe and that any safety concerns are tended to. When it comes to safety, prevention is better than cure. By knowing what to look out for means that costly mistakes or accidents are avoided.

As part of the representative appointment, our teams will be required to do regular inspections on-site and at the head office. Any safety concerns will need to be reported and tended to within 20 days of the initial inspection. These are only a few steps taken to ensure a healthy and safe work environment for our staff and crews. By taking steps to ensure workplace safety, businesses can protect their staff, reduce costs, improve productivity, create a positive work environment, and comply with regulations.
