GeoGroup NMU Squash team 2nd in USSA Tournament

The GeoGroup sponsors the eight person Nelson Mandela University (NMU) 1st Squash team.

The team recently took part in the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Tournament in Cape Town. This is an inter-university competition and is also a selection tournament to identify players for the South African University team to represent South Africa at the World University Games.

Seventeen teams representing twelve universities took part.

We are very proud to be associated with the NMU team who finished 2nd overall. 

Some individuals also put in great performances with NMU representatives achieving 2nd place in the ladies’ tournament and the winner of the ladies’ B section. 

Three of the team were selected for the South African squad for next year’s World Student Games.

The coach says, “The team spirit and performance of the team was outstanding! The players showed great fight and resilience overcoming a very tough pool and semi-final match to reach the final. “
